Spencer Baker Taken By Death; Last Rites Sunday
Spencer F. Baker, 88, son of a pioneer family in the Ty Ty Community, died Friday night at his home on Route 1, Omega.
He had been ill for one year.
Funeral services will be held at the Antioch Baptist Church Sunday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Wesley Nobles, pastor, and the Rev. John Bush officiating.
Burial will be in the Leila cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the home of his son, Rufus Baker, until the funeral.
Mr. Baker was a native of Colquitt County, born here on July 31, 1882 and had lived here all his life.
His parents, the late Fred Baker and Eliza Clark Baker were pioneer settlers in the Ty Ty community.
He was a charter member of the Antioch Baptist Church.
