Cornelius Beukema, 63, of San Rafael, a Pacific Fruit Express yard clerk, died yesterday in a San Francisco hospital which he entered a week ago for treatment of a heart ailment.

Beukema had resided about 12 years at 211 Belle Avenue, San Rafael, and had previously lived in Santa Rosa. He came to California in 1945 and was employed as yard clerk by Pacific Fruit Express at its Bayshore and Oakland yards and most recently at Guadalupe, Santa Barbara County. He was a native of Michigan.

He was a member of the Lansing, MI, lodge of Free and Accepted Masons, and of the Brotherhood of Railway and Steamship Clerks.

Surviving are his wife, Marsha; a daughter Carolyn Beukema; and 3 brothers; Judge Larry Beukema of Wyoming, MI; Ayd Beukema of Arizona; and John Beukema of Honolulu.

Private family funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Keaton's Mortuary, San Rafael, with burial at Mt. Tamalpais Cemetery.
