JOSEPH YEACKEL FINAL RITES SAID

Funeral services were held at Knosher Funeral Home in Goldendale, February 26, 1963 with George A. Gardner officiating; interment was in the Centerville Grange Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Tsugio Takahashi, Zenas Mattson, William Ritzschke, James Yeackel, August Yeackel, Frank Garner.
Active pallbearers were Ted Carratt, Lyle Tobin, Quentin Yeackel, Arthur Basse, Robert Jackel and Bud Ritzschke.
Joseph (Joe) Yeackel was born January 12, 1885 on his father's homestead near Centerville, on which he lived his entire life. He died Saturday morning, February 23, 1963, at the age of 78 years 1 month and 11 days. He was baptized June 11, 1886, in the Lutheran Church.
He was a pioneer homesteader, his homestead is in the Simcoe mountains. He spent many happy hours of his life hunting and fishing in the outdoors.
He spent his lifetime farming his father's farm, three miles south of Centerville.
He was married to Julia Ethel Saxton in 1906. She preceded him in death April 4, 1918, leaving two daughters, Melva and Marjorie.
On March 10, 1923 he married Mollie Brooks Huntley, who had one son, Earl (Huntley) Yeackel.
He leaves as survivors, his wife Mollie, her son Earl; and daughters Marjorie Basse, Centerville and Velma Miller, of Moro, Ore.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and his sister, Mrs. Ben Allen of Condon, Ore
