Arthur Harlie Gilbert Jr. John J. Montano, 75, El Paso, Texas. Walked up the stairway to heaven to rest with his Lord at 2:49 A.M. On June 29, 2019, surrounded by his beloved family.

Arthur was born on July 11, 1943, in Placitas, New Mexico, to the parents Gilbert Montaño and Julia Trujillo. He is preceded in death by his parents Gilbert and Julia, and siblings Jaime and Josie. Arthur is survived by his Wife Bertha of 35 years, his siblings: George (Rita), Larry (Lydia), Pat (Viola), Clyde (Joyce), Christy (Edna), and Lilly. He is also survived by his children: Yvonne, Pamela, Monique, and Isaac, as well as his 18 grandchildren.

At 20 years of age, Arthur enlisted into the United States Army. During his Army Tenure in the time of the Vietnam War, Arthur traveled the world holding many occupations over multiple tours. Arthur Honorably and Proudly served his Country for 35 years, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer Two in 1985.

Arthur Harlie Gilbert Jr. John J. Montaño, much like his name, left behind a long legacy of love and affection for those he touched during his lifetime. Continuously blessing, teaching, and supporting his Family and Friends, his leadership, passion, and love will live on, emulated in the lifestyles of all who continue to love him.

This Tuesday July 2, at 11 A.M. at Martin funeral home East on George Dieter, then at 1:30 P.M. Burial at Ft Bliss. Reception to follow at 2:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
