Elaine Helen Jackson. 67, lived a full and courageous life. She was born in Detroit on Jan 6, 1951 to Edward and Evelyn (Valco) Janssen, who preceded her in death. Elaine passed away in her sleep with the family by her side on Aug 23, 2018. She was raised in the Catholic faith and enjoyed the comfort of a caring and hardworking family. She graduated from Marion HS in Birmingham, MI, in 1969 and went on to Eastern Michigan Univ to study education. At EMU she met her husband, Thomas Jackson, and earned her Bachelor's degree. She continued her education and earned a Masters from Western Michigan Univ. She spent her career teaching in the Catholic school system where she touched the lives of hundreds of students. She took pride in being prepared and on-time. She kept up with the newest teaching trends and innovations until she retired from Resurrection School in 2013. Elaine's passion for education is evident as she saw all of her children through college and watched them earn a combined six college and advanced degrees.
