RENSSELAER James F. Countryman, age 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, in Virginia Beach, Va. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Edward Countryman and Julia Wiley Countryman. Mr. Countryman was a lifelong resident of Rensselaer. He was a graduate of St. John's Academy and attended Siena College. He served in the Marine Corps in the Central and Southwest Pacific areas with the Marine Scout Bombing Squadron- VMSB-244, Bombing Banshees, during World War II. After the war he worked and retired from for the Delaware and Hudson Railroad. James enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and square dancing with friends Tom and Helen LaZot, who both predeceased him. Beloved husband of the late Margaret White Countryman. Father of Gregg (Diane) and Keith (Deborah) Countryman. Grandfather of Geoffrey Countryman, Dana White, Justin Countryman and Scott Countryman. Great-grandfather of Katelin Countryman, Nathan White and Nicholas White. He is predeceased by his siblings, Edward Countryman, Robert Countryman and Anne Marie Cox.
