Betty Jane Adkins May, age 86, of Pikeville, Kentucky, passed away at the Pikeville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Saturday July 6, 2019. Betty was the daughter of the late Leslie and Martha Reynolds Adkins. She was born in Pikeville, Kentucky December 27, 1932. Betty worked as a house keeper and was a member of the Pikeville Free Will Baptist Church where she was baptized August 29, 1982.
Mrs. Adkins was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Ola Lee May Jr., and Larry May, one grandson-Brandon Perry, one great grandson-Jonah Coal Varney, one sister-Glenna Meredith, and two brothers-Eddie Gene Adkins and Freddie Adkins.
Betty Jane’s survivors include; three daughters, Judy May Layne and her husband Chester of Blaine, Kentucky, Janie May Varney of Raccoon, Kentucky, and Marsha May Perry of Tennessee, ten grandchildren, Kenny Thornbury Jr., Amy Williamson, Chad Varney, Ashley McCoy, Josh May, Samantha May, Larry Ryan May, Matt May, and Nickolas Perry, ten great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, two brothers-James Adkins of Richmond, Virginia, Donnie Adkins of Morristown, Tennessee, one sister- Dottie Sue Henderson of Macon, Georgia, and a host of other family and great friends.
She will truly be missed and forever loved.

Visitation will be Tuesday July 9, 2019 after 6:00 P.M. at J.W. Call & Son Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at the funeral home Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. with Adam Akers and Bud Crum officiating.
The burial will follow at R. H. Ratliff Cemetery
