Bobby Gerald Griffith, age 77, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017.

Mr. Griffith was born September 23, 1940 in Cherokee County, NC to the late James Willard Griffith and the late Myrtle Huskins Griffith. He had resided in Canton before making his home in Candler for the past 39 years. Mr. Griffith was a United States Army veteran who honorably served his country during the Viet Nam era. He had been employed with BASF in Enka where he was a dedicated employee of 30 years. Bobby was an avid reader and indeed a hard worker. In the words of his family,” Bobby was a good husband, father, grandfather, a wonderful son-in-law and his main concern was always taking care of his family that he loved deeply.”

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Harry Griffith and also an infant sister, Evelyn Griffith.

Surviving are his loving wife of 44 years, Pat Henry Griffith of Candler, a son, James Griffith and his wife, Sherri Griffith of Maggie Valley; granddaughters, Jamie, Hannah and Breeana; brothers, Wayne Griffith, Danny Griffith and Gary Griffith all of Canton; sisters, Billie Clark of Canton, Pat Kirkpatrick of Waynesville and Peggy Griffith of Monks Corner, SC and many friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 13, 2017 in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Canton. Pastor Michael Rich will be officiating. Burial with military honors will be held at Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesville.
