Martha Emily Teague was born near High Point, North Carolina, May 30, 1854 and died at her home near Zyba, Kansas, Nov. 10, 1915 at the age of 61 years, 5 months and 10 days. In the spring of 1884, with her mother, brothers and sister, she came to northern Kansas and later they removed to Sumner county, where she has since resided. On November 12, 1901 she was married to William H. LeForce to whom she was a faithful and devoted wife. Besides her husband she leaves two brothers, A.J. and R.P. Teague, of Peck and one sister, Mrs. Dan Gilchrist of Belle Plaine, also a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her loss.

Several years ago she united with the Church of Christ and has lived a true Christian life. The funeral was held from Council Hill Church at ten o'clock Friday morning, November 12 conducted by Elder D.T. Broadus. Burial was made in the family lot at Council Hill.
