Marjorie Jean Young, 85, of Springfield, formerly of Kincaid and Tovey, died at 6:08 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at her home.
Marjorie was born October 22, 1933, in Springfield, the daughter of Clyde and Jean Henderson Snider. She married Andrew C. Young on January 25, 1953, in Kincaid.
Marjorie had worked for the state for 27 years in the Governor and Controller’s offices and retired from the University of Illinois Extension Office in 1995. After retirement, she was a cashier for Lowe’s, from 2003-2007.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Thomas H. Snider; sister, Verbal Jo Taglioli; and brother-in-law, Tom Taglioli.
She is survived by her husband, Andrew Young of Springfield; son, Rickey C. Young of St. Augustine, FL; daughter, Tamara “Tammy” Jo Young of Springfield; grandchildren, Lathan C. Cole Jr. of Springfield and Claudia Jean Young of Orlando, FL; and one nephew, Jerry Young of Tovey.
Cremation was provided by Lincoln Land Cremation Society.
