Pioneer School Teacher of California. Daughter of Josiah Everett and Emeline (Ashley) Stevens, she came to California with her family in 1856. Starting in 1869, she taught at public schools throughout California, at Marysville, Contra Costa County, Santa Barbara County, Ventura County and San Diego. She taught for over 45 years, and came out of retirement during the First World War when there was a shortage of teachers.
