A celebration of life service will be at the Belmond United Church of Christ on Saturday, July 13. Please dress casually, colorfully, and comfortable. The family thanks everyone who reached out to them.

Jason was born March 3, 1979, in Boone, Iowa. He attended school in Belmond and graduated in 1997. He married Sheena Parcel on January 17, 1998, and they made their home in Algona. They were the parents of two daughters, Cheyenne Rae Lynn and Maddison Delores. When the girls were school aged, the family returned to his hometown of Belmond.

Jason was a hard worker, working at various locations in manufacturing and production. His family was his pride and joy, and he was always a devoted husband and father. Married to his sweetheart at the age of 18, their marriage was admired by many. Only death 21 years later could physically separate the two.

His love for his daughters was boundless, and he always celebrated their achievements, no matter how small. He considered them the two greatest accomplishments of his life. For the past year he enjoyed being a Grandpa to Maddison's son, Josiah. He relished the title of Grandpa and was looking forward to the next grandbaby, expected by Cheyenne in January.

Jason had a very close relationship with his mother and they leaned on each other a lot during his adult years, helping each other through their struggles. He had a huge love, and even greater respect, for his brother Deacon, and he absolutely adored nephew and nieces, Zachary, Lilly, and Sadie Grace.

Jason loved his extended "sisters" Jasmine Withers and Katie Obrecht VanZwol and he and Sheena were a big influence in their lives. He had a very close relationship with his uncles, Brian and Jeff Jenison and he enjoyed holidays, especially the 4th of July water gun fights with Jeff's kids. Children and young people gravitated toward him and he was considered Uncle Jacey to many of them. Animals of all kinds also flocked to him. The family had many dogs and cats over the years. Both Jason and Sheena consider their pets family members, and his loyal fur friend Sam will miss him terribly.

Surviving are his wife, Sheena, daughters Cheyenne (Zach Lee) and Maddison, and grandson, Josiah all of Mason City; his mother Delores Jenison (Stan Hansen) of Belmond; brother Deacon (Becky) of Waverly; uncles Brian Jenison, in Houston and Jeff (Nicole) Jenison of Cedar Falls; and his father James Gardner of Clarion. Also nieces and nephews Zachary, Lilly, Sadie; cousins Denver, Joshua, Jesse and Jeyna; and cousin/friend Thomas (Jessica) Ricke and girls of Belmond.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Jon and Jean Jenison, his cousin Jon Allen Jenison, and paternal grandparents Donald and Margaret Gardner.
