Marion Janette Otwell Eads, 84, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the Mustang Creek Estates of Allen, TX, surrounded by her loving family.

Janette, the oldest of six children, was born on March 23, 1935 to the late John P. and Ruth Morris Otwell in Willisville.

Growing up, she built many lifelong relationships with her cousins. The year of 1953 was big for her, as she graduated from Magnolia High School, completed beauty college, married her husband of 60 years, the late Hughey Eads Jr., and started her family.

She lived her life making special memories with the people she loved. Her children and grandchildren were her world. She loved making them hot cocoa, doing hair, giving perms, reading the Bible, quoting scriptures, saying prayers and encouraging anyone who needed it. Janette enjoyed fellowship at the First Assembly of God in Springhill, LA. In her later years, she lived with dementia but continued loving and lifting the spirits of those around her. She ultimately lost her battle with cancer, but her joy and selflessness will be remembered by everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and two brothers, Darrel and Jerry Otwell.

Survivors include five children, Janice and Jerrel Johnson, Rhonda and Paul Voss, Gary and Carolyn Eads, Sandy Clark, Vicki and Alan Stewart; three brothers, Terry, Sammy and Tony Otwell; three sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Melleby, Lois Otwell, Beverly Otwell; 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, who all adored her.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Lewis Funeral Home in Magnolia.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, November 18, 2019 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Magnolia.

Burial will follow at Shiloh Lamartine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Johnson, Paul Voss Jr., J.P. Hunter, Matthew Hunter, Jay Marshall and Josh Eads. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Eads, Chad Rogers, and Daniel Stewart.

Psalm 30:5 “For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.”
