Howard worked as an electronic technician with Guidance Control Systems for McDonnell Douglas and later Boeing. He helped with Special Olympics for 25 years. Howard was a man of faith who helped start several churches, including Church on the Rock. He was a longtime member of Assembly of God Church in Troy, where he sang in the choir and served as Deacon. Howard took it upon himself to help others by delivering food to those in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Amanda Pierce, Sr.; two brothers: Jim and Samuel Pierce; one sister, Donna Wells; one son, Joe Sieve; one daughter, Donna Layton; one son-in-law, Kraig Kurtz; one daughter-in-law, Cynthia Sieve; one grandson, Neil Tiek; and his beloved wife of nearly 48 years, Joyce Pierce, who died on October 4. 2009.∼Later
