Gertrude Evelena Bias, 92, Versailles, died June 23, 2019, at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital, Jefferson City.

Born February 23, 1927, in Morgan County, she was the daughter of Albert and Lula Kinney Silvey.

On May 7, 1947, she married Myron Bias. He preceded her in death on February 17, 1986.

She attended Southwest Baptist College, Bolivar.

She was a teacher at Locust School for two years and was a day care provider for 50 years.

She was a member of Ritchie Baptist church, served on the cemetery board, and was a member of the VFW Post 5178 Ladies Auxiliary, Gravois Mills.

Three sisters, Faye Drace, Lois Holst, Melva Wood, a brother, Phineas Silvey, four half-sisters, Gracie, Lola, Beulah, Zelma and four half-brothers, Ora, Dorsey, Bennie and Henry, preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Darrell and Rick Bias, Versailles; a daughter-in-law, Jenny; a nephew she raised, Phil Silvey and his wife, Faye, Higginsville; seven grandchildren and spouses, Erica and Shawn Packard, Higginsville, Tasha and Steve Carl, St. Genevieve, Johnathon Bias, California, Ashley and Sam Tilden, Odessa, Jessica and Josh Loganbill, Laurie, Rebecca and Maurice Moyer, Joy Bias, Versailles; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held June 26 at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles; burial in Versailles Cemetery.

Family suggests memorials to the Ritchie Cemetery Association or the American Lung Association.
