He was born January 27, 1944, in Springfield, Missouri, and resided most of his life in Anderson.
Herman graduated from Clinton County High School in Albany, Kentucky. He also had 16 various occupational degrees.
He is a retired Fork Lift Operator for Guide Lamp division of General Motors, retiring in 1997 after 33 years of service.
Herman was a member of Fellowship Masonic Lodge #681, Scottish Rite Valley, Indianapolis; Murat Shrine, Indianapolis; Madison County Shrine Club, and the Madison County Desert Patrol.
He enjoyed working on lawn mowers, rummaging, flea markets, but most of all, spending time with his family..
Herman is survived by his loving wife, whom he married on May 25, 1965, Linda (Dowden) Williams; daughter, Tonya (Chris) Robbins; grandchildren, Jessica (JL) Jackson and William Dale (Merceded) Robbins; great-grandsons, Bentley Robbins and Tyler Jackson; great-granddaughter, Sierra Robbins; sisters, Shirley Melton and Carol Burchett; sister-in-law, Judy Williams, and brother-in-law, Wayne Stockton. Several nieces, nephews and brothers-in-law and sisters in-law also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Lila Williams; sister, Nancy Stockton; grandson-in-law, Jesse Jackson, and brother, Austin Williams.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 9, 2019, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson. A Masonic Service will be at 7:30 p.m.
Services will be Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will take place in the Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
