Susan was born to Marjorie and Arlington (Ike) Price. In 1945, her family moved to Brighton, where Susan graduated from Brighton High School in 1958, then worked as a Judicial Clerk at Adams County Courthouse and for Public Service (Xcel Energy). She had lived in the states of Idaho, Washington and Alaska. In Alaska, she worked for Chugach Electric and would often fly to remote villages to conduct home energy audits. After returning to Colorado, she founded Harmony Homes, an agency with a mission to provide homes and assistance to developmentally disabled individuals. Harmony Homes continues that mission today. Following the death of her mother in 1995, she started a non-profit, Harmony Angels, establishing many local traditions such as delivering gifts on Mother’s and Father’s Day to mothers and fathers in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Harmony Angels started the Coats for Kids drive in Brighton at the beginning of winter for local schools. Harmony Angels gathered donations of goods for Freedom Service Dogs. Susan would often hang with her Red Hat and RoadRunner crew, trying out different food venues and traveling to interesting destinations. In her later years, Susan was actively involved with local animal shelters and The Wild Animal Sanctuary, adopting and helping many dogs and cats and other animals. Survivors included: children John Grein, Jalayne Grein, and Brad; eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and sister and brother-in-law, Cathy & Larry Rundback, Coeur d’Alene, ID. Preceded by her sister, Linda Ogilvie in 2008. Celebration of Susan’s life was held on July 12th at the Tabor-Rice Funeral Home in Brighton. Memorial donations made to Adams County Animal Shelter.
