Russell “Russ” A. Evans, 59, of Amarillo, TX, formerly of Watertown, passed away of an apparent heart attack on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 and joined his Lord and Savior.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. Anthony Schultz officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church from noon until the time of service. Burial will take place at Bethel Cemetery in Ixonia. Russell Alan Evans was born on November 16, 1959 to Kenneth and Kathleen (nee Schlesner) Evans in Watertown. He was a 1978 graduate of Johnson Creek High School. Russ drove truck for 24 years, and greatly enjoyed his job as a truck driver for Pine Hill Trucking in Beaver Dam. Russ will be remembered as a generous and caring father, grandfather and friend. He was very proud of his son and daughter in law, and two granddaughters. He talked about his granddaughters all the time. He will be deeply missed by those who knew him.
He is survived by his mother, Kathleen Evans of Watertown, WI; son, Jesse (Andrea) Evans of Brodhead, WI; grandchildren, Alexis Evans, Kaylee Evans; siblings, Merlin (Janet) Evans of Dousman, WI, Richard (Grace) Evans of Fairborn, OH, Debra (Don) Thiede of Deerbrook, WI, Roxanne (Tom) Bertel of Watertown, WI; close friend, Elmo Quandt of Hartford, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
