Bobby Johnston, age 88, of Elaine, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019. He was born July 21, 1930, in Red Bay, Alabama to Mattie Kent and William Johnston. Mr. Johnston was a member of Elaine Baptist Church and a retired fire Captain of 20+ years in Elaine. A U.S. Navy veteran, he enjoyed carpentry work and gardening.
Mr. Johnston was survived by his son, Floyd Johnston (Lisa) of Mountain View, Arkansas; daughter, Cathy Tinsley of Elaine; seven grandchildren, Michelle Snowden, Denny Johnston, Ricky Tinsley (Betty), Penny Greenwood (William), Callie Snowden (Dennis), Jennifer Whittington (Brad), Jacob Johnston (Carol); fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two siblings, Curtis Johnston (Kim) of Red Banks, Mississippi and Robie Permenter of Sherwood, Arkansas; and sister-n-law, Faye Johnston of Elaine.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Johnston; grandson, Michael Tinsley; son, Larry Johnston; and seven brothers.
