On June 28, 2019, Deborah Gilbert, age 63, died at her home in Cornell, Wisconsin of Metastatic Breast Cancer.

Cancer met its match in Deb, a strong-willed woman driven by a combination of love for her grand-children, husband, daughters, and cats, and a healthy dose of good old-fashioned stubbornness. She was a fighter.

Deb is now re-united with many people she loves dearly, including her parents, Carvel and Cleora Walters of Cadott, Wi.

She is survived by her loving husband David; three daughters who enjoy vying for the title “The Favorite”, Balinda (Jeff) Tomczak of Elk Mound, Patricia (Tom Lane) Gilbert of Greensboro, NC, and Jessica (James) Kloss of Cornell; her beloved grand-children Dylan, Mason, Breanna, Riley, and Hailey Kloss and Jackson and Abby Tomczak; siblings Mayda (Paul) Smith of Stanley and Doug (Diane) Walters of Cadott, and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, four feline companions, and many others who adore her.

Deb enjoyed collecting knick knacks and pretty things. She had a lot of compassion, especially for the elderly, people in need, and for animals. She loved her grandchildren more than anything. She really enjoyed time with her “Hubby” making home-made wine, watching the hummingbirds, spending time at camp, and doing yard work.

Deb initially had Breast Cancer in 2011. She did what she had to do, and then lived life at a new level. She travelled some. She laughed out loud...A LOT. She developed a very unique sense of humor. She let go of her need for a perfectly tidy house. She figured out that life is short, and that it’s important to spend time with those you love, doing things that make you happy. She will be deeply missed.
