Spc. Joseph P. Kenny of Veneta, Oregon graduated from Elmira High School near Eugene in 2005. He served in the Army as a specialist and had worked as a computer specialist for Denco Design. Family and friends remembered Kenny for his bright personality, sense of humor and selflessness. Comrades praised his leadership and work ethic. He died in Mosul, Iraq, of injuries suffered from a non-combat related incident at age 20.
