Bubba proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church. Bubba retired from Reynolds as a supervisor in the computer department. Everyone remembers Bubba being a jokester. He joked all the time. He spent several summers coaching ladies softball teams. Bubba was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He also liked bowling. Bubba was always willing to help anyone with anything. Family members remember him being a "co-star" with Burt Reynolds in "White Lightning," which was filmed in Benton.
Preceding Bubba in death are his parents; an infant son; a daughter, Lyn Cady; and siblings, Gene Cady, Beth Rossi, June Ray and C.B. Cady.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 60 years, Mary (Ensey) Cady, of Benton; a son, Terry Cady, of Benton; four grandchildren, Sunny Allen and husband, Will, Torrie Jones and husband, David, Sara Johnson and husband, Steven, and Zach Cady; four great-grandchildren, Fallon Martin, Destiny Johnson, Ayden Jones and Aurora Allen; a brother, Charles Cady and wife, Frances; a sister, Edith Hilton; and many nieces, nephews, family members and friends who loved Bubba and will miss him always.
A reception visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 3, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, located at 322 N. Market St. in Benton. Funeral service, officiated by the Rev. Michael Reese and the Rev. Munsey Harris, will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be held at Smith-Rosemont Cemetery.
