Alan Lee Cox, 54, of Allen, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, in Lincoln.
A celebration of Alan’s life will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 20844 Bonanza Blvd., Elkhorn. There will be a private family inurnment.
He was born on Jan. 21, 1964, in Ord to Fred and Shayrell (Holcolmb) Cox.
Alan graduated from Arcadia High School in 1982 and Wayne State College in 1986. His love for weather and weather-related events led him to a successful fire claims career with State Farm Insurance Companies for almost 32 years. He held multiple insurance designations.
He married Susan Niebur in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, on May 21, 2003. After starting a family, Alan’s career took them from Lincoln to Bloomington, Ill., Hoover, Ala., and Allen, Texas.
Alan was an avid reader, music buff, and Husker football fan, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Alan is survived by his wife, Susan; children, Madelon and Owen; brothers, David, John (Tracy) and Douglas (Nancy) Cox; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
