Esch, Michael L. Age 66; of Alma; passed away Monday, June 19, 2017; at Mid Michigan – Gratiot Hospital in Alma. Services will be Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Berry Funeral Home in Shepherd with Jim Rathbun officiating. There will be Visitation Friday, June 23, 2017 from 5 to 8pm. Michael was born May 21, 1951 the son of Paul and Eleanor (Gross) Esch. He retired from the Mt. Pleasant Regional Center after working over 30 years as a safety and security guard. Michael enjoyed reading and collecting books. He was also a lover and collector of cars and could identify makes, models, and years from a mile down the road. Michael is survived by his 8 siblings Helene Esch of Midland, Kathy Esch of Shepherd, Tom (Doris) Esch of Mt. Pleasant, Pete (Debbie) Esch of Mt. Pleasant, Chrissie Esch of Ellsworth, Tony (Beth Gordon) Esch of Texas, Marie (Mike) Esch of Baltimore, and Joe Esch of Shepherd; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Michael is preceded by both his parents and his brother Phillip Esch.
