Paulette Campbell White, 57, 103 Gracie Drive, Hampton, went home to be with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, February 25, 2009, at Johnson City Medical Center Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.
A native of Carter County, she was born on November 29, 1951. She was the daughter of the late James Thomas and Thelma Novella Davis Campbell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Willard Franklin Reynolds on September 16, 1974. Her paternal grandparents were Jodie Issabella Ward Campbell Trivette and John Campbell. Her maternal grandparents were Nelson Monroe and Alice Pruitt Davis. She was raised by her grandma Jodie.
She provided a good home for her children and ran her own alteration shop for years. She was later employed by North American Rayon Company and Wal-Mart. She kept the most beautiful flower gardens in Hampton and was of the Freewill Baptist Faith.
Survivors in addition to her ex-husband and dear friend, Terry E. White of the home, include 3 daughters, 1 step-daughter and sons-in-laws: Geneva and Paul Smith of Johnson City; Joy and Cletis Holtsclaw of Elizabethton; Alma D. White and Fiancée Tiffany D. Moore of Maryville, TN; and Julie Waters and fiancée Danny Burchette of Hampton. She had one son: James Toby White, of Hampton.
She was loved by 13 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren: Larry and Tommy White, Tina Vance, Darrell, Daniel, and Sarah Holtsclaw, Benjamin and Gracie Waters, Jessie and Brittany Burchette, Leann and Jody White of the home, Cadence (Katy) White, and Jamie White.
Surviving brothers and sisters include Larry and Frances Campbell of Coeburn, VA; Elbert and Shannon Campbell of Archdale, NC; Johnny and Lois Campbell of Thomasville, NC; Darrell and Peggy Campbell of Yadkinville, NC; Mickey and Janet Campbell of Flag Pond, TN; Thirlene and Phillip Holt of Oakridge, NC; and Donna Pearson of Hampton. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Frankie Shaw and Kathy Campbell, and a brother Rex Campbell.
At her insistence, there will be no funeral services but the family will plan a gathering of family and friends at a later date. She wishes to be cremated and have her ashes scattered among her flowers at home.
Moms ashes were scattered in her flower garden in front of the angel at 103 Gracie Drive, Hampton, TN 37658 as she wanted. Later some were placed here to be with dad as he wanted. Some fine day we shall all gather together again!
