Donna Jeanne Day of Dayton, Iowa was born May 24th, 1943 to parents Fred and Marcella Benton in the Webster City, Iowa hospital.
They made their home in rural Lehigh where she was raised. Donna was baptized in the Lord at the Lehigh Christian Church on April 17th, 1955. She attended the Lehigh and Dayton Schools until she graduated in 1962.
Donna was blessed with six children – Dennis, Curtis, James, Vikki, Kathy, and Amanda. As the years passed, she was blessed with more children as so many came to call her “Mom”. Rhonda Long and Bertie Dawster to name just a couple.
Later in life she settled in Dayton, Iowa where she explored many professions. Of which, her favorite was Kitchen Manager/Cook at the Frontier Lounge.
As years passed, she lovingly greeted many grandchildren and great grandchildren. After her retirement, her greatest joy was to cheer on their many achievements and to give many hugs and encouragement when they needed it.
Donna was called home on June 29th, 2019 in the presence of many friends and family.
She is survived by her siblings: Vernon (Butch) Benton and wife Judy, Delores (Toots) Aldrich and husband Curtis, her children, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Marcella Benton, brother Lawrence Benton, and sister in law Paulette Benton.
A celebration of life will be held July 13th at 2PM at the South Lodge in Dolliver Park – Lehigh, Iowa.
