Mary Agnes Macke was born in Rueschendorf, Oldenburg, Germany on Sept. 20, 1870. She was the daughter of Bernard Heinrich and Anna Bauemer Macke. Mary Agnes emigrated to the United States about 1893 and married Joseph Schwabe on 3 Oct. 1893 in Arcadia, Carroll County, Iowa. They had two daughters: Anna Schwabe Zwingman and Kathryn Schwabe Pelster. Joseph died in August 1896 and is buried in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Breda, Carroll County, Iowa.
Mary Agnes married August Trenkamp on 17 Jan. 189, at St. John's Catholic Church, Acadia, Carroll County, Iowa. The Trenkamps move to Boone County, Nebraska, about 1903. They had a home in Raeville at the time of their deaths. The house is no longer standing. The children born to this union were: Mary E., Henry, Ben, Joseph, Clara, and Elizabeth. Elizabeth is the only one that married. She married John Roufs. All the Trenkamps were lifetime residents of Boone County and are buried in St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Raeville.
