HARTSELLE — Funeral for Wanda Prince Boyd, 78, will be Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Wendell Prince officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ms. Boyd died on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at her residence. She was born September 5, 1940, in Morgan County to Nathan Alexander Prince and Hattie Pauline Waddell Prince. She was employed by Olan Mills Portrait Studio retouching canvas photos, as a quality control specialist. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She loved her life; from working at the dirt track 6 to 7 days a week, working with kids baseball, soccer, volleyball and go-karts, and then still found time to bowl professionally. She was never afraid of hard work, from weeding an acre to fixing a truck and maintaining a dirt racetrack. She was an avid gardener, had a green thumb and loved to watch things grow. She was a cancer survivor, was good spirited and was loved dearly by all who knew her.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Steven Douglas Prince; a nephew, Jason Prince; sisters-in-law, Francis Prince and Shelia Prince and a brother-in-law, Martin Depreast.

Survivors include three sons, Nathaniel Wayne Dobbins (Dana), Scott Boyd (April) and Stacy Boyd (Gracie); three daughters, Donna Shipley, Casandra Wilson (Joe) and Shannon Boyd; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
