Edward Chester Burke, 90, of Ringgold, died on Saturday, November 17, 2007 at his home surrounded by family and friends.
Born July 13, 1917 to the late Edward C. Burke and Laura Shannon Burke of Lebanon, Tn., Mr. Burke was an ironworker with the local 290, and a member of the Parkway Baptist Temple, and the Kerbela Shiners’ Association and 32nd Degree Mason, and the Pocahontas Club Chapter of the Eastern Star.
He was preceded in death by his wife ( of 59 years) Maxine Burke; daughter, Tracy Burke; son Nicole Burke; and grandson, Dakota Ray Randolph.
He is survived by his daughters, Saborah Burke of Ringgold and Donna Faye of Lebanon, Tn.; brother and sister-in-law, Homer and Juanita Burke; grandchildren, Greg and Venita Stephens, George Stephens, all of Ringgold, Tara and Travis Burke of Dayton, Oh.; great-grandchildren, Justin Ray Stephens of Ringgold, Bridgette and Jo Carol, Brandy and Doug MCatee of Dalton, Brea McCurdy and Donnie Perry of Dalton; great-great-grandchildren, Alex and Caleb MCatee, Trevor and Seth Perry, Cierra Tyler and Taylor Webb.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Neal Brown officiating.
Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood, Tn.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville.
