Ellis -- Betsy Ann King, 18, died Sunday, March 26, as the result of injuries sustained in a car accident south of Ellis. She was born Sept. 4, 1976 in WaKenney to Milton and Connie (Niernberger) King.

She was a senior at Ellis High School. She had served in various class offices and was student council treasurer, a member of the Kayettes, the Kayette Bank, the Future Homemaker of America, the school choir, the forensics team and the Honor Society. She was school yearbook photographer and had perfect school attendance for the past two years. She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Ellis, and the Lutheran Youth Group. She was employed part-time by the Ellis State Bank.

Survivors include her parents, of the home; a brother, Joey, of the home; and her grandmothers, Margaret King and Angnes Niernberger, Ellis.

She was preceded in death by a brother Ernest Ray King in 1987, and her maternal and paternal grandfathers.

Services were held at 2 p.m. today at the Christ Lutheran Church, Ellis, with the Rev. Lyle M. Knuth officiating. Wasinger Funeral Chapel, Ellis, was in charge of arrangements.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Ellis High School or to the church.
