HAVANNA — Jerry Adcock, 69, of Havana, passed away at 11:23 a.m. Saturday (June 29, 2019) at his home.
He was born Aug. 24, 1949, in Hot Springs, Ark., to Glen and Dean McDowell Porzelius.
Jerry is survived by one son, Shayne Adcock; and one granddaughter, Lauren Adcock. Also surviving are two brothers, Ronald S. (Kris) Adcock and Samuel T. (Virginia) Adcock.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Jerry graduated from Normal Community High School in 1967. He served in the U.S. Army from 1969-1971. He worked for Firestone Rubber Co. for many years and later OTR in Normal, until his retirement. He enjoyed river life, spending time with his son and granddaughter and golfing with his brother, Ron.
Jerry lived his life his way, with no regrets. He never knew a stranger, had a huge heart and a kind soul. He will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Hurley Funeral Home, Havana. Military rites will be performed by VFW Post 6408 and American Legion Post 138, immediately following the visitation, at the funeral home.
