Carol Jean Hunt, age 87 of Hesperia, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2019 at the Oceana County Medical Care Facility in Hart. Carol was born on July 5, 1931 in Muskegon to Carl Henry and Viola Anne (Stanley) Homan and graduated from Muskegon High School. Carol later met and married Donald Garth Hunt on March 19, 1953 in Muskegon and moved to the Hesperia area soon after their marriage. Carol had been a secretary at the Meadows Nursing Center and Gerber Products Company and later retired from Gray & Company in Hart. Carol and Don had raised Percheron Horses – attending fairs, plow days and horse shows; was a member of the Foster Grandparents Program and Red Hat Society; enjoyed watching and feeding the birds; enjoyed crafts; spending time with her grandchildren; gaming and her cat, Snowflake. Carol had been a Sunday school teacher and was a member of the Ferry United Methodist Church.

Carol is survived by her children, Peggy (Ken) Rumsey of Hesperia; Gary (Debbie) Hunt of Hesperia; her grandchildren and great grandchildren – grandson - Adam Rumsey and his daughter, Dominique; grandson - Andrew (Kyla) Rumsey and their children, Braxton, Knox, Baylor, and Kendon; grandson - Aaron Rumsey and his son, Dane; granddaughter - Sara Byers and her son, Andy J.; grandson – Daniel Hunt. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Donald G. Hunt in 1998; her son, Carl “Butch” Hunt in 1968; and her sister, Kathleen Schultz in 2012.
