Wilma Jean Cooper, 80, of Salem, Arkansas passed away, Tuesday, July 2, 2019 in Salem, Arkansas.

She was born in Opposition, Arkansas on November 16, 1938, daughter of the late Leslie and Idell (Holder) Hathcoat. Wilma spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was united in marriage to Gary Cooper on March 2, 1961 at Mammoth Spring Church of Christ in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas. During her working years, Wilma worked for the Salem School District for 30 years. Wilma was a member of the Salem Church of Christ in Salem. She enjoyed antiques, flowers, birds, photography and fishing and loved gardening and canning.

Wilma is survived by her husband, Gary Cooper of Salem, Arkansas; daughters, Annette Scribner and husband Kevin of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, Jannette Cooper of Viola, Arkansas and Kay Cooper Brooks and husband Homer of Jonesboro, Arkansas; grandchildren, Thomas Cooper and wife Jennifer of Salem, Arkansas, Megan Calloway and husband James of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Kaitlin Lamborn and husband Christian of Rogers, Arkansas and Homer Brooks, IV of Fort Smith, Arkansas; great grandchildren, Ayden, Carter, Emery, Kylan, Johnathan, Jacob and Jacey and sister, Debby Hathcoat Baldridge of Ravenden, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Idell Hathcoat.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 5, 2019 beginning at 2:00 PM with Bro. Mike Yates officiating at Doty Family Funeral Service Chapel in Salem, Arkansas. Interment will follow at Gum Springs Cemetery in Viola, Arkansas. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM until service time.

Pallbearers include: Thomas Cooper, Tracy Francher, Keith McHenry, Rick Saunders, John Cawvey and Kelly Batterton
