Lt. Col. Keith G. Dailey, USAF, Ret. age 74 of Oronogo, MO, passed away at his residence at 8:05 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2008.
Born November 20, 1933 in Cincinnati, OH, he was the son of the late Edgar G. Dailey and Alice May Bell Dailey. A graduate of Collingswood (NJ) High School, in 1958 he received his Bachelors of Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and in 1972 received his Masters of Electrical Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology.
He began his career in the Air Force in 1955. He served in the capacities of flight navigation, military air transport (where he saw and loved Europe), test flight engineer, foreign technology and on the Inspector General’s Team. As an adult he was stationed at Edwards A.F.B. in California from 1958-1965, Eglin A.F.B. in Florida from 1965 to 1970, Wright Patterson A.F.B. in Ohio from 1970 to 1972, Andrews A.F.B. in Washington, D.C. from 1972 to 1973 and Kirkland A.F.B. in Ohio from 1973 until 1975. He retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel to Joplin, MO in 1975 and became a gentleman farmer. He loved being outdoors in his woods and being on his tractor. He fell in love with computers in the late ‘70’s and began his own computer programming business, in which he actively participated until a week ago. He was a member of Frisco Church in Webb City and the Retired Officers Association. The joys of his life were his daughters and his grandchildren.
He married Nancy L. Bradford on September 30, 1960 in Las Vegas, NV. She survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Deborah A. Washburn and husband John of Asbury, MO, Robin J. Ihle and husband Ron of Frisco, TX; seven grandchildren, Blake Abbott, Abby, Samantha and Karli Washburn, all of Asbury, Niki Ihle Schertz and husband Cayle of Plano, TX, Brandon and Krista Ihle of Frisco, TX; a sister, Tony Sarcinella and husband Andy of Scottsdale, AZ; two brothers, Garrett Dailey and wife Sharon of Chouteau, OK, Gary Dailey and wife Lynn of Oakland, CA; nine nephews; his mother-in-law, Gladys Bradford of Ohio and many member of his church family.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7th at Frisco Church, 908 W. Daugherty, Webb City, MO with Pastor Matt Snyder officiating. Full military rites will be provided at the church. Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Ihle, Brandon Ihle, John Washburn, LeRoy Bradford, Blake Abbott and Garret Dailey. The body will then be cremated.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to either American Leprosy Mission or Frisco Church Roof fund, in care of the mortuary.
