Danny Paul McLean of Blaine, Minnesota died February 12, 2019 from complications of COPD. He was born in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan on May 20, 1948 to Clarence and Rose McLean.
He attended Soo Township Schools and graduated from Sault High with the Class of 1966.
Dan served in the US Army in Germany. He then WITI school in Superior, Wisconsin and earned a degree as a mechanic. He was employed as a mechanic for Greyhound in Superior, Duluth and Minneapolis before starting McLean Small Engine and Auto-Tow towing businesses in Maple Grove.
Dan always enjoyed tinkering on small engines, repairing John Deere lawn tractors and selling parts on eBay before being limited by the length of his oxygen hose. He had been in home hospice care since September. Even though he was getting kind of cranky he will be missed by those close to him. Dan is survived by his wife and dedicated caregiver Lyn McLean of Blaine, brothers Bill Compo (Jeanette) of Esko Minnesota, and Don McLean (Chris) of Brimley, sister in law Diane Compo of Brimley and many cousins and nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, sisters Pat Stockman of New Baltimore, Michigan and Shirley Shannon of the Sault and brother Chuck Compo of Brimley.
At Dan's request there will be no funeral or memorial service.
