Otis (Sodie) Leo Martin, 94, of Owensville, IN, passed away on July 1, 2019 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton, IN. He was born to the late Ora and Margaret (Romerhausen) Martin on June 30, 1925 in Fort Branch, IN.


Sodie was a Korean War Veteran for the U.S. Army where he served as Military Police. He was a member of Dayspring Community Church in Owensville, IN, Fort Branch VFW Post # 2714, Haubstadt American Legion Post #194, and the Pony Express Club.


He is preceded in death by 4 brothers, Gerald, Joseph, Donald, and Ronald Martin; 4 sisters, Nola Aldridge, Nina Brown, Geneva Schaefer, and Mary Rose Martin; 2 stepsons, Ernie Midkiff and George Aldridge; first wife Virna Martin and second wife, Mary Jane Martin.


He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Buck, stepchildren, Larry (Monica) Mounts of Fort Branch, IN, Twanya Miller of Owensville, IN, Cindy Casey of Hartford, KY and Dave Midkiff; Special friends, Keith (Shannon) Heldt of Petersburg, IN, Kenny (Tammy) Dewig of Owensville, IN and Donny (Elaine) Klusmeier of Fort Branch, IN;3 sisters, Margaret Wagner of Bruceville, IN, Linda Faulkner of Fort Branch, IN, and Janetta King of Fort Branch, IN; 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and his dog Jesse.


Services will be on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastors Scott Burr and John Naas officiating. Military Honors will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery on Saturday, July 6, 2019 prior to burial. Visitation will be on Friday, July 5, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
