James Acton, 65 years of age, of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019 at his home.
James was born in Somerset, Kentucky on March 15th, 1954, son of the late Casper Acton and Edna Girdler Vaughn. He was a graduate of Pulaski County High School, he enjoyed hunting, collecting and making arrowheads. James was of the Baptist faith, and was formerly employed at Tecumseh of Somerset.
James was survived by his loving wife of thirty two years, Jeanne Silvers Acton, whom he married on March 7th 1986; one step-son, Doyle Phelps (and Lawanda Miller); a sister-in-law, Velda Acton; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Casper Acton and Edna Girdler Vaughn; and one brother, Samuel Acton.
Visitations were held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 5th, 2019 at the Southern Oaks Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 5th, 2019 in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Dick officiating.
Burial followed in the Silvers Family Cemetery in Pulaski County, Kentucky
