Alzheimer’s may have taken Mary Lou’s mind, but her smile never faded. She was born April 06, 1940 to the late Burl and Veta Mae Southard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, JoAnne Bolick; husband, Troyal Kincaid; brother, Junior Southard; and daughter, LouAnne Kincaid. Survivors include her son, Jimmy Kincaid; her sister, Juanita Greene and many nephews and nieces that she adored. She became owner of Crossroads Market in Gamewell, and her job there lasted over 40 years. With a smile on her face, she welcomed her customers, and she often enjoyed making goody bags for the children. She retired several years ago, but Mary never gave up her love for the community and for the people. A celebration of Mary Lou’s life was held Sunday, July 7th in the Chapel at Evans Funeral Service and Crematory, Lenoir. Pastor David Payne and Pastor Doug Price officiated. Interment followed at the family plot at Littlejohn Methodist Church in Gamewell.
