Jewell Huff Hughes age 90 died Sunday evening, June 30, 2019 at the Roman Eagle Rehabilitation and Health Care located in Danville, VA. Born in Person County, she was the daughter of the late Nathaniel Brightwell Huff and Thelma Oakley Huff. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jessie William Hughes and her siblings, James Nathaniel Huff and Wilma Hughes Huff Squires. Jewell loved cooking, sewing and working in with her flowers. She was the co-owner and operator of H & H Pillow Company. Mrs. Hughes was a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her four children: Michael Beam Hughes of Ringgold, VA, Charles William Hughes (Shae) of Danville, VA, Vivian Hughes Tuttle (Pete) of Reidsville, NC and Emily Hughes Ratliff (Larry) of Danville, VA; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 11 AM Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church in Cedar Grove, NC with the Chaplain David Huffman officiating.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Roman Eagle Rehabilitation and Health Care and the CNA's for their care and support.
