He was born in Haywood County, graduated from Enka High School and served in the US Navy. While serving on the USS Forrestal, he earned the Navy Achievement Medal, Second Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and the Navy Good Conduct Medal. He was also an active member of the Veteran X group at the VA Medical Center. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and watching NASCAR with his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Glen White.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce Overman White; daughter, Courtney Lynn White; siblings, Raynia White and fiancé Tim Moore, Tawnia Burrell, and Douglas Burrell; granddaughter, Luna Lynn McKinney, and nephew, Trevor Cagle.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00pm on Wednesday, July 3rd at the Western Carolina Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.
