Mrs. Laura Mae Evans, age 86 of Athens, AL passed away at Athens Health and Rehab. Mrs. Evans was born on February 6, 1933 to Clifford Gatlin and Evelyn Gatlin Dawes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Woodrow Evans; sister, Betty Sue Christopher; 2 brothers, Thomas Gatlin and David Dawes.
Mrs. Evans is survived by her nephews, Cliff Christopher and wife, Pam of Athens, AL and Tommy Gatlin and wife, Paula of Minor Hill, TN ; great nephew, Britt Christopher, wife Becky and daughters, Emily and Khloe of Athens, AL; sister-in-law, Frances Gatlin of Minor Hill, TN.
Mrs. Evans was a member of Round Island Baptist Church. She loved her children, Bible class, flowers and animals.
Services for Mrs. Evans will be at 3:00PM on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:45 prior to the service. Burial will be in Limestone Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Britt Christopher, Tommy Gatlin, Jim Kelley, Wayne Loveless, Garth Lovvorn, Jr. and Mike Grubbs.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of Limestone County or Round Island Baptists Church
