Joe Dee New, 69, of Brady, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018. There was a visitation held at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall in Brady on Friday, Jan. 19, from 4-7 p.m. There will be refreshments and snacks. People can come and tell their stories in remembrance of Joe. Joe Dee New was born in San Angelo to his father, Walter Weaver, and his mother, Sarah Louise Fowler. He was later adopted by his step-dad, James Butler New. After he completed his GED, Joe enlisted into the Army. Once he left the Army he married the love of his life, Erma Lee Addison, on Feb. 17, 1982. Together they lived in Anson, where he worked for the city as a water maintenance man. He moved from Anson to Brady and has lived here for the past 18 years. He enjoyed going fishing and loved to watch movies. He had a deep appreciation for music, as well as getting to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren who knew him as PaPa. Surviving Joe include his loving wife, Erma Lee New of Brady; one daughter, Jennifer Dossey and husband, Darrell, of Brady; two sisters, Helen Fenwick and husband, David, of Arkansas, and Mary Weaver West and husband, Dave, of Alabama. Also surviving are his four grandchildren, Levi NewDossey, Taylor Dossey, Kylee Dossey and Colton Dossey. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Butler New and Sarah Louise New, his father Walter Weaver; and one son, Scott Dee New.
