Denise Marie Ethier was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan to parents Louis and Henriette.

One of Denise's passions was gardening and flowers. Gardeners are special people, as was Denise. It takes patience and perseverance and a love for living things to grow a garden or a beautiful flower. Gardening is tedious and demanding work, but there is something that gardeners know and experience that others sometimes do not. There is beauty and satisfaction in seeing the result of our labor grow and come to fruition.

There is peacefulness that can come over us as we care for and nurture the flowers and plants in a garden. In nurturing living things and helping to bring beauty and peace to the world, gardeners make a difference in the world and make their lives and the lives of those who see their gardens richer and fuller.

This very nurturing was carried through and showed in all of the things Denise did in life, as in her occupation at the Chetwynd Hospital as a care-aid for the elderly and ailing. It was more than a job to her, it was an honor for her to be able to make them all comfortable, as was the same in her personal life by her loving and caring quality to anyone that came into her life.

She also had other loves in her life; music and the outdoors, especially fishing and camping with her family. She would beam with pride and joy when her own children would sing whether karaoke or playing the guitar. She also loved to listen to her grandchildren sing and play the guitar for her. Denise was a good musician and singer herself, she loved to play the guitar and piano as well.

Denise was predeceased by her husband Joe, her parents Louis and Henriette, and her brother Morris.

Denise is survived by her daughters Patsy (Stewart) and Teresa, her sons Michael (Leann) and Richard (Norma), her sisters Anita and Aline, her brothers Eddie, and Leo (Nancy), her sister-in-law Evelyn, her grandchildren: Brandon (Rose Marie), Janelle, Donovan, Quaid, Shalayne (Justin), Richard, Stephen, Jenna, Michael, Nathan, Katie, Nicole (Warren), Lisa (Adrian), and Patrick, as well as her great-grandchildren: Kayden, Current, Odin, Iley and Reyna, Riley, Ryan, Colby and Oliver, along with many nieces, nephews and numerous relatives and friends.
