Curtis B. Howard, Jr.
July 8, 1932 - June 28, 2019

Curtis B. Howard, Jr., age 86, of Rushville, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019 at home. Curtis was a lifelong resident of Rushville. He was the only child of Curtis B. Howard, Sr., and Rose (Glascox) Howard, who preceded him in death. He was born on July 8, 1932. On September 23, 1950, he married Harriet Dean Cole, who also preceded him in death. Together, Curt and Dean raised three sons, Mike (Susan) Howard who resides in Carmel, Indiana, Greg (Gail) Howard, who resides in Frisco, Texas, and Tim (Kim) Howard who resides in Greenfield, Indiana. During his lifetime, Curt worked as an Omar man, was employed by Prudential Insurance Company, and became an Engineer at Allison Transmission. He retired from Allison in 1989 after 30 years of service.
Curt later married Sue Miller in 1985. Together they enjoyed golfing, trips to Florida, attending grandchildren's sporting events, and being with family and friends. For the past ten years, they spent the winters in Palmetto, Florida. Curt gained three more sons at that time, Bryan (Sheila) Miller, from Indianapolis, Breat Miller from Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Bradlee (Lorraine E. ) Miller, Indianapolis. All of Curt'sons and their wives survive. Curt also enjoyed spoiling eight grandchildren Jason Howard, of Frisco Texas, Bradley Howard from League City, Texas, Brandon Howard, Fishers, Indiana, Matthew Howard, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Eric Howard, Whiteland, Indiana, Alisha Lenning, Gwynneville, Indiana, Josh Washmuth, Rushville, and Kris Washmuth (who preceded him in death). A grandson, Brent Howard also preceded him in death. Seven step-grandchildren also survive: Nolan Miller, John Miller, Carson Miller, Keagan Miller, Maddie Miller, Xavier E. Carpenter and Karlissa Carpenter. He also leaves behind 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is Monday, July 1, at 12:00 p.m. at Moster Mortuary, with a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place in East Hill Cemetery in Rushville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rushville Community Foundation at 117 North Main Street, Rushville, Indiana 46173.
