James, the son of J.A. Parks and wife, was born in Audrain county, May 25th, 1920, died at the Amanda hospital in Mexico, Mo., March 30, 1927, at about 9:50 p.m. Aged six years, ten months, and five days.
Death was due to blood poisoning caused from internal injuries.
James was a fine, sturdy little boy and was obedient and always desirous of pleasing. He was sweet, even tempered and, child that he was disliked profanity and roughness of any kind. He told his parents he was going to pray at the table when he became older. He liked to got to school and disliked to miss a day. He will be missed by all who knew him as well as in the home, where he was the joy and pride.
James leave to mourn his untimely death his parents, one sister Louise, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Cook, north of Sturgeon and his grandmother Alice Parks of this city, and many other relatives and friends.
The funeral was conducted at the Pleasant Grove church by Elder Egan Herndon, Saturday at 2:30 o'clock. Interment in the city cemetery. (Interment was at Pleasant Grove)
Pleasant Grove Church is now extinct. It is northeast of Sturgeon. South on Rt. 151N., West on Audrain County Road 132.
