Michael C. Scarbrough, 52, of Grant, passed away on June 20, 2019 at home. He was born on January 17, 1967 to Richard and Ruth (Carson) Scarbrough in Muskegon, Michigan. He graduated from Grant High School in 1985 and earned his bachelor's degree from Lake Superior State University. On May 10, 1992 he married Velda Jean "VJ" Lefeber in Grant. Michael was the cross country and track coach at Grant High School for many years. He was a member of Wesleyan Church International, Michigan Track Coaches Association and ordained in the Wesleyan Church. Michael is survived by his wife VJ, daughter Bethany (Rob) Paterson, son Todd (Melanie) Lanning, daughter Tracie (Mark) Ausema, grandsons; Christopher and Liam Paterson, granddaughter Eliana Marie Ausema, brothers; Dan Scarbrough and Steve Scarbrough, sister Michelle (Todd) Deuling, father in law Vernon (Joann) LeFeber, several nieces and nephews and all of his kids that he coached. Visitation will be held Friday, June 28, 2019, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Fields-McKinley Grant Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019, 10:00 am at the Grant Fine Arts Center with Rev. Chadrick Brown officiating. Burial will take place in the Parkview Cemetery.
