MARY 5th child of Francis and Onner (Prince) Loud

Mary Loud was the last of the family to get married. She was born, raised, and educated in Weymouth, MA. No doubt, she stayed and lived with her parents until they passed on to Higher Ground. She outlived all her brothers and sisters. She lived through the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812, not forgetting the French and Indian War of 1758. You could imagine, Mary thought there was no hope for this new country. She lived and died in her native town of Weymouth, Massachusetts.

Her husband, Elisha Jones, was born in Weymouth, the son of Isaac and Mary (Randall) Jones. Elisha Jones was married (1) in Weymouth, Mar. 18, 1758 (int.) to Ruth Burrell, daughter of John and Susannah (Richards) Burrell, born at Weymouth, Jun. 6, 1732. They had 5 children: Elisha Jones, baptized Aug. 1762, Susannah Jones, baptized Aug. 8, 1773, married in Weymouth, Apr. 12, 1792, Stephen French. Mary Jones, Mercy Jones, and James Jones.

Mary Loud was a member of the Old North Church of North Weymouth. Perhaps she and Elisha Jones were married here, as he was also a member. In any case, there are no descendants of Mary Loud so this is the end of Chapter Five. This chapter was mentioned here to give Mary the rightful position and recognition in the original family. If she had only left a diary, it certainly would have been very interesting. Perhaps she did.
