Elizabeth (Bess) Moggach was born on 21 September 1904 at Anderson’s Wards in the parish of Grange in Banffshire, Scotland. She was the sixth child of Alexander Moggach (1855-1940) and the fifth child of Alexander’s second wife, Jane (Jeannie) Gordon (1876-1950). Bess was unmarried. After the death of her parents she continued to run Sillyearn Farm with her unmarried brother, Robert Henderson (Bob) Moggach (1919-1991) until some point before 1960, when they moved to a house in the local area. Bess died on 11 December 1994 at the age of 90 years. Her death was registered in the Keith Registration District and she is buried with her brother, Bob, at Grange Cemetery.
