Pamela Sue Gordon, 60, passed away on June 14, 2019, at St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island after a courageous battle with cancer.

Pam was born in Oshkosh on Jan. 4, 1959, to Bruce and Carol (Benzen) Gordon. She attended various elementary schools across Nebraska and Wyoming wherever Bruce’s jobs took them. Pam graduated from Franklin High School in 1977 and attended Kearney State College.

Pam made her home in Grand Island, where she volunteered at the Department of Social Services and later at the St. Francis Hospital Gift Shop.

Pam had a brilliant mind and was the family historian, always knowing the dates of births, anniversaries and other memorable events. She especially enjoyed reading and studying the lives and lifestyles of movie stars and politicians. A highlight of her life was a college group tour to Washington, D.C.

Preceding her in death were grandparents, Billie and Thelma Gordon and Paul and Bertha Benzen; mother, Carol Chrisp; aunts, Jacque Miller and Micki Gordon; and uncles, Gary Gordon, Dennis Johnson and Bob Tapp.

She leaves to mourn her father, Bruce Gordon of North Platte; brother, Tim (Rhonda) Gordon of Newcastle, Wyoming; sister, Polly Dimmitt of Pierre, South Dakota; nieces, Brenna and Gracie Dimmitt of Pierre; stepfather, Jerry Chrisp of Hershey; uncle, Curtis Miller of La Mesa, California; aunts, Linda Johnson of Cambridge and Kay Tapp of Lewellen; and other relatives and friends.

Cremation was chosen and burial of cremains will be July 13 at 10 a.m. MT at Ash Hollow Cemetery, Lewellen. Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home, Grand Island, is in charge of arrangements.
