Marion was born March 9, 1933 in East Moline, a daughter of Cyriel and Lia (Poelvoorde) Provoost. She graduated from United Township High School, class of 1951, and later married Walter “Wally” Wood on October 16, 1954 in Rock Island County. He preceded her in death on June 1, 2009.
Mrs. Wood was a bank teller at East Moline State Bank for many years, and later John Deere Harvester Credit Union until retiring in 1991. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, bowling, playing cards with her friends, dancing with her husband, and music. She loved her pets, and following grandkids to marching competitions. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who was known for befriending everyone she met. She was member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Moline.
Those left to honor her memory include: 2 children: Tim (Peggy) Wood of Unionville, MO; Cheryl (Carlos) Vega of Davenport; 5 grandchildren: Brandon (Tyffani) Wood and Mitchell Wood all of Unionville, MO, Travis (Kristin) Lopez of Milan, Bryan (Seth) Lopez of Rock Island, and Alyse (Josh) Schmidt of Bolingbrook; 9 great-grandchildren: Kaydin, Braxton, Degen, Drenna, Mavrick, Ava, Finley, Jett, and Kaiya.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband.
